I went to this free botanical gardens in the South West Sydney on early March. A hot day had changed into a cloudy day and heat haze was a real big issue. I still managed to get a bunch of shots before the roos (kangaroos) came out to play.

Eagle Farm Reserve, Eagle Vale, NSW

Visited on: March/April 2025

I visited this little wetland in south-western Sydney area in Eagle Vale. It is a nice little pond behind Eagle Vale Central, a recreational center with a library, swimming pool and a gym.

During the mornings, the birds are really active and you can get a bit of a flight show. And, this will be a great place for children to run around. This place also has a track around the pond for walking, running or cycling.

Sydney Park, Alexandria, NSW

Visited on: March 2025

I went for a quick look around, a late afternoon on late March, after finishing work. This was near sunset time. This place was full of a lot of people and pets. A lot of walkers, joggers and runners around with a smattering of bicyclists.

There are some wetlands, a couple of artificial wet areas but the number of birds on sight were a bit sparse. It probably was not the right time of the year or day for bird photography, but I did find a big spider. What else do you expect? Welcome to Australia.
